Becoming More Critical
Why?
There is much pious hat-doffing toward critical thinking in superficial public discussion, but no real enthusiasm for real criticism.
This may be explained by the very widespread lack of understanding of the nature of criticism and its values.
Also, for most people criticism is abuse.
and How?
Only practice helps.
Knowledge is insufficent.
